Placement Exam Information

All students, including native speakers, who have been exposed to Spanish or Portuguese whether formally or informally, who wish to enroll in a Spanish or Portuguese language course must take the placement test. Follow these links for exam information:

Spanish placement exam - Results will be posted prior to the start of school on Canvas (within the “Spanish Placement Test Site” ; Canvas link is available at the bottom of this page).

Portuguese placement exam - Results will be posted prior to the start of school on Canvas (within the “Portuguese Placement Test Site”; Canvas link is available at the bottom of this page).

Catalan placement exam - For placement into CTLN 1100 or 1200, please contact Lourdes Sabé (lourdes.sabe@yale.edu) for placement information.
