Adriana Bezerra da Silva
Adriana is a first-generation college graduate who holds a PhD and an MA in Letters from the Universidade de São Paulo (USP), Brazil, with a period of academic residency at the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM). She has been teaching in higher education for more than eight years, with experience at both public and private institutions in Brazil and the United States.
Her research explores the intersections between Latin American literature and the arts, particularly visual and performance art, with an emphasis on 20th- and 21st-century production. She is also interested in the effects of late academic literacy on the development of an intellectual syntax and on the (in)viability of creative processes within academic writing.
In addition to her teaching and research, Adriana has worked as a translator, subtitler, editor, and proofreader for social, academic, and artistic projects. Her creative writing includes short stories published in literary anthologies in Brazil.
