Ian Russell

Ian is a teacher-scholar with expertise in critical literacy pedagogies, queer studies, and Spanish & Latin American studies. He holds a PhD in Hispanic Studies from Brown University, and has taught in the Department of Spanish & Portuguese at Yale University since 2021.
At Yale, he teaches content-based, culturally responsive material at all levels of the curriculum, including in our Yale Summer Session programs abroad and an L5 course exploring LGBT+ histories in the Spanish-speaking world.
