Julia Millán Gómez
Lector of Spanish
Julia Millán Gómez is completing her Ph.D. in Hispanic Linguistics with a minor in Applied Linguistics at Texas Tech University. She also holds an M.A. in Romance Languages, an M.A. in Event Organization and Business Tourism, and a B.A. in Translation and Interpretation (Spanish-English-Arabic).
Her teaching and research are grounded in applied linguistics, sociolinguistics, phonetics and phonology, second language acquisition, and heritage language education. She has extensive experience developing pedagogical materials and teaching Spanish to diverse student populations, both in the U.S. and abroad.
Her work bridges linguistic theory and classroom practice, with a special interest in multilingualism, language ideologies, and cross-cultural communication.
