Thais Vianna

Thais Vianna is from Rio de Janeiro and is a Portuguese Fulbright Foreign Language Teaching Assistant. She majored in English language and Literature at the Rio de Janeiro State University (UERJ) and got her Master’s degree in Literary Theory and Comparative Literature at the same university. Her research focuses on translation studies, specifically on Brazilian literary self-translation. In her thesis, she investigated the self-translation choices and motivations of a Brazilian poet who works with the English-Portuguese language pair. In addition, Thais also had the opportunity to share her passion for literature when she worked as a reading promoter volunteer for Children’s Education at a Community Activity Center during her undergraduate years.
