A Life Reenactment is a theater play based on personal stories of the director and actors, and excerpts of text by 2022 Nobel in Literature Prize winner Annie Ernaux. The play explores femininity, domesticity and memory and will be performed in Galician (a minoritized language from Northwestern Spain) and English. A Life Reenactment is constructed around the actors’ memories to find spaces for desire, belonging and feminism, placing common daily aspects of women’s life in the center of the dramatic experience. It also seeks to showcase the double marginalized condition of womanhood-language, to revert the narrative by creating different persona(s) that will be enacting situations of appropriation.
